Present Simple: -s third person singular (he, she, it) in affirmative sentences
In Present Simple affirmative form, we add an -s to the verb in the 3rd person singular (he, she, it).
There are spelling rules for that -s we add to the verb:
1. General rule: Add -s to the verb
to walk: she walks to stop: it stops
2. Verbs ending in -s, -x, -sh, -ch, -o: add -es to the verb
to kiss: he kisses to mix: she mixes to push: he pushes
to watch: he watches to go: it goes
3. Verbs ending in consonant +y: drop -y and add -ies
to study: she studies
(but verbs ending in vowel +y: general rule. to play:it plays)
4. Irregular: to have: it has
